CIPP Felt Liner Supplied for Sewer Rehabilitation

In November, Insituform® supplied a CIPP Felt liner for the successful rehabilitation of a 200-metre section of combined sewer on Zweinaundorfer Straße, Leipzig, Germany. This project, carried out on behalf of Leipziger Wasserbetriebe, is part of a larger infrastructure renewal effort across the city. Swietelsky-Faber GmbH Kanalsanierung managed the installation, with Insituform® providing the high-quality CIPP Felt solution and technical support.

The sewer had an egg-shaped profile (1100/1310 x 19mm), requiring a tailored solution that would restore its structural integrity. Insituform® supplied the necessary materials, and the liner was installed and cured using the hot water method, offering a durable and effective rehabilitation solution.

Hot Water Curing Method

The liner was installed by Swietelsky-Faber GmbH Kanalsanierung using an inversion tower, and then cured with mobile heating systems using the hot water method.
This method was ideal for the site’s challenging conditions, including groundwater infiltration and misaligned pipes, ensuring the liner set quickly and seamlessly, forming a durable inner pipe.

Efficient CIPP Felt Installation Setup

Insituform® provided full on-site support, including the supply of a cooling container and installation of a conveyor ramp, ensuring efficient and precise placement of the liner. The setup allowed the Swietelsky-Faber team to position the liner within a few hours, maintaining a fast workflow.
