Douglas Promenade Low Level SWS

For the Loch Promenade project, local conditions regarding tidal impact and ability to control the working environment, made providing an effective solution a challenging task as the project required operating within a very prominent area with minimal disruption.

The project involved the rehabilitation of 218m of 900mm and 1200mm pipeline affected by fines migration within key tourist area of IOM. Within the consideration of various options to restrict fines migration, the resultant proposal had to be resistant to significant cold sea water infiltration. Additionally, the project investment had to add value while controlling tidal surges with only a 5-hour time frame in between 7m tides to complete inversion.

Project leaders and team were engaged throughout planning and design. True innovation was exhibited by the team choosing the right solution to overcome environmental circumstances and mitigate any significant potential customer and environmental impacts.
